Outside vehicles used will be as eco friendly as possible, running on Bio-diesel fuel, for example. We encourage homeowners to become involved in the planning and running of your new community.

Whoever said "location is everything" must have been standing on the shores of the Macal River in Belize. This breathtaking locale is a dream come true for a permanent residence. If you decide to reside in your new home permanently, Belize is a perfect fit for both Europeans and Americans. The official language is English; banking and Belize Trusts are secure. One Euro is equal to BZ$2.66. One US $1 is equal to BZ $2. You can easily exchange currency in the banks in San Ignacio and other cities. The US dollar is accepted at many local establishments. In San Ignacio many restaurants serve delicious local and international cuisine. Shopping in the local open-air markets and stores is a unique and fascinating experience; a fabulous way to get a feeling for the local culture!
Our community is located 15 km (9 miles) South of San Ignacio indicated by the green dot on the map below.
Our Exact location is On the Macal River 15 km from the city of San Ignacio in Cayo province in the Mayan Mountains. San Ignacio has plenty of restaurants, shops and facilities. All you need can easily be acquired here.
About Belize
Belize (formerly British Honduras) lies on the Caribbean cost of Central America, bounded on the north by Mexico and on the south by Guatemala. There are many islands along the coast called Cayes (keys). Belize and its Cayes are sheltered by the second largest barrier reef in the world. The territory's greatest length from the north to south is 180 miles and its width is 68 miles.
Climate: It is always summer in Belize, there are 2 different seasons, the rainy and dry. The rainy season takes place between June and November, the Cayo district averages 125 rainy days a year. Cayo is located in the middle of the country. The temperatures range from 85°F (29°C), and 70°F (20°C).
Population: Estimated population is 230,000. The main ethnic groups are Creole (African Descent), Mestizo (Spanish-Maya) and Garifuna (Caribs). There are also a number of people of Spanish, Asian and East Indian descent. Ethnic groups are heavily intermixed. There is also a small Mennonite community.
Religion: About 62% are Roman Catholic; other religions include Methodist, Seventh Day Adventists, Protestants, Baptist, etc.
Languages: Official language is English, however Spanish is widely spoken.
Currency: Belize dollar = $.50 US
Health: Belize is relatively free of endemic diseases. There are several hospitals, clinics and private doctors.
Education: The literacy rate is over 93%.
Electricity: 110 Volt, like in the U.S.
Things to do: Mayan Ruins, Blue Hole, Caves, Belize Zoo, Jungle River Boat Ride, Medicinal Rainforest Hike, SCUBA Diving, Snorkeling, Bird-watching, Safari, Horseback Riding, Sport Fishing, and plenty of sunbathing.
Airlines: Continental, Taca, American & US Airways. Belize is about two hours from Miami and Houston. Flights available from Cancun, Mexico, Guatemala and other Central American countries with connection through El Salvador.
Credit Cards: Most major credit cards accepted.
Entrance Requirements: Valid passport. Passport must be valid at least 6 months after departure date. No visa is required for U.S. or European Union citizens. Visa requirements may vary depending on country of origin. There is an airport departure tax.
